Summary in plain English
Auris stores your music library on your device. We collect nothing. We run no analytics, no telemetry, no servers. The few optional integrations — Last.fm, Discord, lyrics fetch, AutoEQ — share only what they must, and only when you enable them.
Information we do not collect
Auris does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information whatsoever. Specifically:
- No name, email, or identifying information is ever requested.
- No usage tracking, no listening-habit telemetry.
- No analytics, no crash-reporting services.
- Your music library, playlists, and preferences live entirely on your device.
Local data storage
Auris keeps the following on your device and nowhere else:
- Library database — metadata about your music (titles, artists, albums, file paths) in a local SQLite file.
- Playlists — the playlists you create and their track listings.
- Settings — your preferences (EQ, audio configuration, interface choices).
- Listening history — play counts and last-played dates, local only.
None of it leaves your device unless you explicitly enable one of the integrations below.
Optional third-party integrations
Auris offers a handful of integrations. Each is off by default. When you turn one on, only the minimum metadata required for that feature is sent.
Last.fm scrobbling
- Track metadata (artist, title, album) is sent to Last.fm while you play music.
- Your Last.fm username is stored locally to maintain the session.
- Nothing else is shared. Last.fm policy: last.fm/legal/privacy
Discord Rich Presence
- The current track’s artist and title are shared with Discord.
- Appears on your Discord profile as “Now Playing.”
- Nothing else is shared.
Lyrics
- Track artist and title are sent to online lyrics providers to fetch matching lyrics.
- No personal information is included in these requests.
AutoEQ presets
- Correction presets are downloaded from the public AutoEQ GitHub repository.
- Only the headphone model name you search for is sent.
Data security
All data stored by Auris stays on your local device and is protected by your operating system’s security measures. We do not have access to your data, and it is never transmitted to our servers — because we don’t have servers.
Children’s privacy
Auris does not collect personal information from anyone, children included. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
Any updates will appear on this page with a revised version date. Substantive changes, if any, will be summarised at the top.
